Our Impact
Since 1994, Impact Capital and Washington State LISC have:
- Financed more than 11,000 affordable housing units.
- Financed more than 1,100,000 square feet of commercial and community facility space.
- Offered real estate and organization management training to over 1,100 attendees from the community development profession.
- Provided $80 million in predevelopment and bridge financing.
- Dispersed over $12.5 million in operating support investments.
- Granted over $172 thousand for technical assistance and training scholarships.
- Financially supported the development of over 8,600 homes and affordable rental units, as well as 400,000 square feet of commercial/retail property.
- Placed $150 million in equity in affordable housing projects in Washington through the LISC- affiliated National Equity Fund.
- The combined investments of Impact Capital & LISC have levereged over $1 billion dollars into communities across the state.
- Expanded delivery of resources and technical assistance to rural Washington, strengthening affordable housing and community economic development activity in underserved areas. Launched a new operating investment program in rural and underserved regions of the state, and created the Opportunity Fund to provide early-stage predevelopment financing.
- Increased nonprofit capacity through grants that support organizational fundraising activities, operating overhead, Americorp stipends, board development and strategic planning, business planning, technology enhancements, and training in the areas of asset management, financial management, real estate development and property management.
- Created the Community Development Leadership Institute both to strengthen the skills of executive directors who manage community development and affordable housing organizations, and to build a stronger peer network of community development leaders across the state. The first class of 18 graduated in April 2002. The success of Institute has resulted in national LISC offering it in three Midwest cities during 2002 and 2003.
