IMPACT CAPITAL HIRES SENIOR LENDING OFFICER IN SEATTLE
Impact Capital has hired Melanie Gillespie to become the new Senior Lending Officer in the Seattle office. Ms. Gillespie has worked over the past 16 years in nonprofit and public sectors, developing numerous innovative projects which have been replicated in several communities. Not only does Ms. Gillespie have significant experience in community development lending, she also oversaw the publication and initial implementation of the Snohomish County 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness and the unique 10 Year Affordable Housing Production Plan.
"During this time of uncertainty about the future of affordable housing finance, I am excited to support Impact to play a key role in developing new models as well as supporting existing resources all aimed at enhancing and sustaining the ability of community based organizations to positively impact the quality of life throughout the state," says Ms. Gillespie.
Ms. Gillespie received her Bachelor Degree from Columbia College in New York and then her MBA from the University of Washington. Since then, Ms. Gillespie has worked as the founding Executive Director of Home For Good and the Supervisor for the Snohomish County Office of Housing. In 2007, she was awarded the "Housing Halo" by the Housing Consortium of Everett and Snohomish County.
Ms. Gillespie lives in Shoreline with her family. She is active in the community and serves on the Board of Directors of both the Shoreline PTA and the Meridian Park Elementary PTSA.
Ms. Gillespie will be responsible for all Lending activities and will manage and oversee Impact Capital's loan portfolio. As the Senior Program Officer for Lending, she will also be managing and underwriting pre-development, construction and permanent financing for real estate developments. Ms. Gillespie will also assist the Chief Executive Officer in the development of new program initiatives and serve as part of the senior management team.
