Impact Capital Celebrates Success at Annual Meeting and Reception

SEATTLE, WA - January 25, 2010 - Presentations at Impact Capital's annual meeting and "Salud to Success!" reception held on January 18 highlighted some of the year's most compelling successes, emphasizing the people and places they have changed for the better.  The event provided an opportunity for Impact Capital to acknowledge board members and community leaders who have provided years of dedication and invaluable support.  After the presentation and awards, guests enjoyed a delicious array of Pacific Northwest wines paired with various cheeses and chocolates.

Impact Capital's CEO, Heyward Watson, began by stressing the need to clearly understand exactly what Impact Capital does and the effect the organization has in communities across the State. Acknowledging the difficulty of conveying the transformative impact of the work they do through mere words, the centerpiece of this year's presentation was a video spotlighting recently completed projects with pictures and audio explaining the importance of Impact Capital's funding. "It was like the stars aligned and you were part of that," explained Kelly McDonald of the YWCA of Pierce County. "With the new space, we will have 25 more beds. This increases our capacity by 50%."  YWCA's project was featured during the video presentation and highlighted the importance of Impact Capital's bridge financing in acquiring the space for their new domestic violence shelter, The Wilsonion.
