MEET NEW SPOKANE PROGRAM OFFICER BORIS BORISOV

SPOKANE, WA – July 21 – Impact Capital has hired Boris Borisov to become the new Program Officer in Spokane.

Mr. Borisov has worked with the City of Spokane, focusing on providing technical assistance to five business associations in their grassroots revitalization efforts. His background will help Impact Capital continue its work in the Spokane International District, where Impact Capital is partnering with the City of Spokane, Spokane Neighborhood Association Partners (SNAP) and the East Sprague Business Association to create a vibrant business corridor and revitalize the neighborhood.

“We are really delighted to have Mr. Borisov join our team,” says Tracy Reich, Director of Community Programs at Impact Capital. “The skills Boris brings to our community revitalization work will enable us to continue to build on the progress we’ve made in the district."

Mr. Borisov originally immigrated to Spokane from Ukraine in the early 1990’s, where he grew up fully emerged in both the Slavic and American cultures. He graduated from Eastern Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning. He education has gone to not only help grassroots revitalization effort but Mr. Borisov has also worked on several large-scale economic development projects, such as the University District and Downtown Plan Update in Spokane.

Mr. Borisov will implement Impact Capital’s Vibrant Communities initiative in Spokane including one-on-one guidance, problem solving and other technical assistance on community revitalization strategies. He will maintain our partnerships and develop new relationships to further community development initiatives in Spokane. “I’m really excited to be coming on board with Impact Capital at such a crucial time. I hope to have the ability to influence and help shape the Spokane International District into a place where people are proud to live, work, and raise their families,” says Mr. Borisov.
