Program Description
Internships, Work-Study positions, and Volunteer positions with Impact Capital provide individuals with a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive insight into a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and the community development field.
Along with gaining hands on experience with a regional organization, this position provides individuals with the opportunity to network with professionals in the community development and affordable housing field. The goal of this program is to nurture the next generation of nonprofit leaders by giving participants exposure to the operation and growth of a nonprofit community development organization in a dynamic and changing environment.
What is it like to be an intern at Impact Capital?
"Impact Capital ... taught me so much about community development, housing, nonprofit organizations, marketing, communications, the list goes on and on. I was able to work on a wide range of projects that gave me experience in many different fields. My favorite part of the internship was going on site visits and meeting and interviewing the people Impact Capital has helped. Through this I was able to write press releases about the people that make up the statistics and help share their inspirational stories with others. I walked away from this internship inspired and with skills that will help me as I move on with college, internships and pursue a career." -- Megan Palmer
